Bosch has really broken ahead of the pack with their new miter finder/digital protractor/angle finder. The handiest thing, in our opinion, you can do with this tool is calculate miter and bevel angles for crown molding cuts easily and efficiently–using the molding spring angle and the corner angle as your input. It’s also great for remodelers who often need to cut trim at odd angles to achieve a good fit. The tool’s digital display is large and easy to read, and there’s also a hold function that freezes the measurement. The finder also has an old-school leveler, so you know you’re operating in pure horizontal reality. Plus, it fits lightly in your hand. Really, this is a very cool and unique tool, one we think finish carpenters and remodelers will find invaluable in their quest for quick, perfect fits. –Michael Shilling

You need this tool, you want this tool, buy this tool. This tool has changed both the accuracy and the quality of my work. I’m not sure how we got by without one.
I work in a furniture factory. We have at least 5 of these in use by tool makers, engineers and quality. Before we got these we used a $300 Starett to get +/- 1 degree. Now we use these to get +/- 0.1 degree. Quality and precision are way up. Get the leg extension if you want to use the inside surface. It would be almost useless to us without the leg extension. Between this and the Smart Tool, we are making much better furniture now than two years ago.
The product is excellent, however, I believe it should come with a permanent storage case to store it while not in use. If there is such a container, it should be listed along side the product, even if is for additional cost.
The product may be good but it needs better instructions. I can not find more instructions anywhere.
I got this after I got tired of trying to read the scale and is that 44.5 degrees or 44.2…the angles are exactly right with the bosch. I would recommend this to anybody doing a crown molding project, it will save you multiple trips back to the miter saw.
