Decided to buy this specific light due to knowledge with it beforehand (father’s flashlight that I got him). Decent brightness and adjustable head that doesn’t go out from constant use or adjusting (old one is probably 2-3 years old). Can use this light an entire day (8 hours non-stop, left it accidently in an area I was working in.) with a fairly new battery and it will still be lit, albeit it will be noticeable that it is drained. But all in all the one I have hasn’t disappointed me as it has done as expected so far.
I work for the telephone company in rural N.E. Oregon-I use this flash light every evening in the rain, snow and freezing cold to see addresses, spot downed lines and for a work area light. Since I have other 14.4 v. DeWalt tools on my service truck I always have spare batteries and a d.c. charger that works fast.
The rotating head makes it easy to position the light beam where I need it and the base on the battery lets it set solid on a flat surface.
The light beam is plenty bright enough for me to inspect storm damaged aerial lines up on poles from the ground that may be 30-35 feet away.
The pistol style grip is easy to hang on to and when I rotate the light head straght it tucks under my arm nicely to allow me to see what I’m doing and work with both hands.
Also, this light is durable! I’ve dropped it sevral times from 25″ on frozen ground while climbing poles and it keeps working. Best of all-never have to buy batteries! I LOVE IT!
We have purchased multiple rechargable flashlights and each one of them have died in the process of rarely using them. Plus, some of the specialty bulbs were very expensive. When we discovered the Dewalt made a flashlight which uses the same rechargable battery pack which fits my husband’s cordless screwdriver, we purchased the Dewalt Flashlight right away. We use it for multiple tasks. We have an extra battery anyway so now we can use this flashlight anytime we need one. Great versatility and great product.
I always have needed a good flash light spot light, since I live in a rural area. The fact that the rechargeable battery is replaceable, and not only that, interchangeable with my drill, circular saw, and shop vac makes this the best spot light I have ever owned.
It’s sturdy, very bright light, good swivel head (but takes a few moments to figure out how to turn the head), battery lasts a long time, very reasonable price, and is perfect if you own any DeWalt 14.4 volt cordless tools. Even if you didn’t, it would almost pay to buy this with a battery and charger!
