Kreg V07-DVD Pocket Hole Solution to Trim Carpentry has been rated 4 starsGood companion to any Kreg kits

This DVD really should be part of all Kreg kits or at least kits that are over $100. It is actually a very decent primer on the use of the Kreg pocket hole system. The DVD quality is excellent. It covers the most popular applications of this kind of joinery without getting bogged down on the step-by-step how to. It hit the right balance.n

The only problem with this DVD is the camera work. It seems at times the cameraman was struggling with where to point the camera at. He should have focus more on the tool working rather the host talking.

Kreg V07-DVD Pocket Hole Solution to Trim Carpentry has been rated 2 starsSave your money for a Kreg accessory

Well, if you’re an experienced builder/contractor like the gentleman hosting the video, and want to learn how pocket holes are used to build newell posts, wainscoting, and door jam extensions, then the TRIM CARPENTRY DVD my appeal to you. n
    n
But if you’re a hobbyist like me who just wants to build the occasional bookcase, small table, cabinet, etc., then you will be disappointed in this DVD. If I had to opportunity to preview it before the purchase, I would not have bought it. n

This is NOT a traditional HOW-TO DVD on using the Kreg jig to build a (fill in the blank) featuring a materials list, dimensions, and tools needed. What it shows you is how pocket holes are used in the building of a window seat and wainscoting, for example. And while interesting to watch, it doesn’t make you want to run to your garage or shop and begin building a newell post or door jam extension (actual projects in the DVD), of all things! Again, the DVD is not a how-to, and the “projects”, in my opinion, are not practical or inspiring.n
    n
There are folks who’ll say it’s worth the $10, but this DVD should come free with the K3MS (the system I bought). Keep the $10 and put it toward a Kreg drill bit, driver, clamp, or even better “The Pocket Hole Drilling Jig Project Book” by Danny Proulx. Excellent book! n
    n
Finally, this review is NOT a knock against Kreg in any way. Their pocket hole jigs and accessories are top shelf. It’s just this particular DVD was a let down.n

    End of discussion! Be well!n

Kreg V07-DVD Pocket Hole Solution to Trim Carpentry has been rated 3 starsA bit shy on technical content
    n

I was disappointed in this DVD. It seems like the camera operator was more intrigued with the instructor’s face rather than the work at hand. The pan to the workpiece was slow and off cue a lot. We saw a lot more of the instructor than his work, thereby missing some valuable visuals. The angle of the camera shots was often on the blind side of the workpiece, or ended up with the instructor’s body in the way. I’d hesitate to purchase any of the other DVD’s in this series, accordingly.

Kreg V07-DVD Pocket Hole Solution to Trim Carpentry has been rated 3 starsPretty good video; frustrating DVD

This video is pretty well done, and I would have given it 4 stars. However, the DVD will not let you resume play where you stopped, and it forces you to sit through a boring and lengthy introduction every time you go back to watch another chapter. Terrible DVD production.
