The Stablemate plus 100 is a well thought out saw stand its all galvanized steel except for a few well placed nylon plugs. I’ve been using this stand for 1 year. I have seen a lot of stands and used many this is my favorite. I’m a finish contractor of 30+ years. I have the Makita LS1013FL miter saw on this and stand now. On a big job with 3 or more saws set up this will be the most used.

Con: The right side support had to be heated and realigned. If this is beyond your scope you probably shouldn’t be using this tool any way.

I bought the wheel, it’s only one wheel. I wouldn’t do that again.

The StableMate Plus100 Universal miter stand is a lot of stand for less money. It is quite rugged and easily adaptable to perform many jobs–and getting your work up to waist level instead of kneeling and working on the floor to make your cuts alone is worth the $100. The only thing negative I can think of is that the work holders on the extensions seem a little narrow for certain applications (which may be due to how the position of my saw came out on the board I had to make for 3 hole mounted saws). There are also some nice add-ons available, like wheels to make it more portable, a parallel fence, and extra tool clamps. Overall this miter saw stand is a real gem for the money, and I would highly recommend it to the homeowner/do-it-yourselfer, and even the thrifty smaller contractors.

There is nothing but galvanized steel on the stand itself, and the standard square steel tubing can be replaced easily unlike most other stands. These are simple but well made and can take more abuse than the light weight stands, like the DeWalt,Hitachi with specific specilized parts. They are about as strong as any stand and if you damage sommething it can be replaced w. parts, steel tubing is available in any HWD store. The Aluminum parts are the mounting brackets. I have 2 plus 100′s (Makita LS1013L & DW706)and they are the best deal, Like James Webb’s Review, I think for the $ it is a best buy. Made in USA and the Company’s CS is top notch. I also added the wheels,shelf support and extra stop/rear fence kits.

I’ve used the Stablemate for about a year now with my Makita 10″ sliding miter saw. I have little but praise for the combination. I did need to deburr some of the holes before the snap-in stops worked correctly, but I’d rather have a piece of equipment that’s too tight versus one that’s too loose. It will only get looser with use, not tighter. It’s not so heavy the wheel kit is necessary unless your back is weak enough you shouldn’t be lifting a miter saw. The attachment system that clamps the saw to the stand works quite well for my Makita. Sets up and breaks down in seconds. I’m impressed that the Stablemate folds down small enough that I can put both the saw and stand in the back of my 1985 Honda Civic along with several tool boxes. Other brands I’ve seen don’t fold down nearly as compactly.

This saw stand is much more stable than ones costing several times more. It’s heavy duty without being very heavy. It’s a good, simple, basic design. I don’t expect anything to ever go wrong with it.

One little improvement I could suggest: some of the parts are held on by nuts that work loose over time. I’ve lost a couple of them. Nuts with nylon inserts or a drop of locktite near the end of the bolt to reduce the number of lost nuts would be an improvement. This issue makes one wonder if the designers actually use the product. If they do, you can bet they’ve done something about it on their personal models. (Or else they keep a box of spare nuts in their truck.)

I reserve five star ratings for products that are perfect. The loose nuts and the very minor issue of needing to deburr some of the parts cost the Stablemate the fifth star. However, these very minor issues aside, this is certainly a five star product in use.

I originally bought the Dewalt Mitre saw stand but returned it, due to poor workmanship (cheap material,made in China). I purchased the Stablemate and have been duly impressed. It is strong and durable (galvi steel, made in USA) plus it is 1/2 price of Dewalt. A strong recommend…the way things used to be made in the US.
