For a suburban yard that was hopelessly overgrown, this along with the Black & Decker 18V pole trimer, has tamed a pretty wild yard. I get tons of cuts, lots of run time between batteries, and having the interchangeablity with my other B&D 18V tools means I’ve always got a fresh battery. Well designed, and easy to use, and I’ve opperated and owned gas chainsaws previously, in case you were wondering…
I am a 72 year old female and have been using a small hand saw to trim trees for years. I am excited and delighted with my new Black and Decker, 18 Volt, chain saw. My husband is no longer able to use our gasoline powered chain saw and this one is just right for me.
This is a great product. I wanted something smaller so I could cut smaller branches and trees, without having to use my Stihl gas chain saw.
This will not replace a chain saw for serious wood cutting. But it is great for smaller wood. It does have a cheap plastic body but all in all it cuts well.
I got the extra battery and recommend it. I was cutting 4 inch logs and would say the battery lasted for 20 minutes.
This would be a great learning tool for a child. I don’t mean a young child. When I was young my dad taught me how to cut logs with a large chain saw, I remember being very afraid that I would cut off a limb. This would be great for teaching cutting with a chain saw. It is easy to handle.

I bought this to carry as a safety tool when I take my UTV back in the trails–its gotten me out of trouble twice when wind blew down a tree. Its battery seems to hold a good charge and its a little workhorse for smaller branch and yard clean up too–and extremely easy to use for those of us with arthritis in the hands who have trouble fighting the heavier gas models. Its not made for heavy duty stuff but does a fine job on the small to medium.
I bought this for quick, simple chainsaw work. Perfect tool for it. It is so cute, that you could mistake it for your childs toy. Surprisingly however, it cuts good….went right thru sticky Christmas tree trunk with no binding at all…zip…all done…timber! Seriously, it is a good value for the price. The novice should not expect the same power and longevity out of an 18 volt battery as a gas powered super saw. Use it as intended and you won’t be disappointd.
