The saw has variable speed from 0 to 2,000 strokes per minute with a 1-inch stroke length, and a maximum capacity of 2-3/4 inches in wood and 5/16 inch in steel. The base bevels 45 degrees and comes with a foot cover to protect finished surfaces. The tool-free blade-changing system is as simple and quick as we’ve seen, and even ejects used blades with the pull of a lever. The 33614-2G is an upgrade of Bosch’s classic model 33614. For the most part, this is the same as its predecessor, which in this case is a good thing. It’s easy to see why this drill was chosen as a 2006 “Best Buy” by a leading consumer magazine. The primary difference is the addition of Bosch’s Bluecore battery technology, which offers 50% longer battery life and a 30-minute charge time.

As a class, Bosch Compact Tough drills are designed to offer extreme durability in a small package. The 33614-2G delivers tons of power in a compact size that makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces than many other drills in its class. At a relatively slim 5.3 pounds and with an ergonomic, soft-grip handle, this is a very comfortable drill to use.
